Pre-submission checklist
- Are your original design ideas intact and evident?
- Review the short article, 4 Principles of Good Design for Websites, and compare the principles to your own web site project.
- How well are this course's web design concepts reflected in your work?
- How well does your site address the needs of your chosen client profile?
- Does your site design work well within the confines of a browser window, as discussed in class using Google Browser Size?
- Does your site work?
- Can you navigate to all of the pages in your site from any page within your site?
- Are all of the site links functional on all pages?
- Are all external links working?
- Is a functional contact method included on your site?
- Is your web site content presented efficiently and correctly?
- Don't use images when text should be used. Images cannot be easily re-formatted across web agents and are not readable by search engines.
- Check image sizes to ensure that large images are not loading into small spaces within your page layout.
- Test your site on multiple browsers and platforms for compatibility issues.
- Spell check your text in Dreamweaver (Commands menu > Check spelling...).
- Is there attention to detail in your work?
- Are styles for borders, padding, and margins used consistently and appropriately, using the CSS box model?
- Are all HTML pages titled appropriately wrt the page content, (i.e., no "Untitled Document" pages)?
- Do all linked pages within your site have informative content. (Instead of a blank page for future expansion, indicate "under construction" in some fashion for any pages beyond the minimum project requirement of five.)
- Are the blue link boxes removed from your images in those cases where you don't want them?
