Software selection

For this class, we will use Apple Final Cut Pro as our video editing software, but the underlying editing principles and concepts can apply to any multi-track, non-linear, non-destructive video editing software.

However you use Final Cut Pro, it is recommended you download the User Manual PDF to have as a handy reference.

The Final Cut Studio suite includes Final Cut Pro, Motion, Color, Compressor, DVD Studio, and SoundTrack. You can accomplish most of the technical skills with the more affordable Final Cut Express.

Other items to consider: an external hard drive and a headset with mic.
